This collective body documents and portrays female pioneers with African ancestral lineages throughout history. It is noted that they have left indelible legacies and have inspired black youths in a positive and unique way.
The Dahomey Warriors of Benin were an all female military regiment in the Kingdom of Dahomey now present day Republic of Benin in West Africa who lasted until the end of the 19th century.
The "Dahomey Amazons" as they are named by Western historians, fought wars for the kingdom, most notably against colonial French forces
