Halsey's Typhoon

This scene depicts an actual event that occurred late in 1944 off the coast of the Philippines. Admiral "Bull" Halsey sailed the U.S. Third Fleet into one of the worst typhoons in decades. Almost every ship in the fleet received some sort of damage and three Destroyers were sunk. One, with all hands. This one, The U.S.S. Spence went down with most, but not all of her crew.
