my first painting.

this is my one of my first if not the first painting ive ever done.


im thinking about selling it let me hear your criteaque.
i know its not perfect so dont tell me it is just give me ideas on how to improve my skills.

Oh yeah i almost forgot i couldnt decide wether to make her a blond a
unett or a read head so i made her all three.

You know what, it is probably better than my first attempt at a portrait years ago. But of course there are things that you can work on. First suggestion is to do as many sketches as you can of eyes, noses, mouths, everything. Learn the face and the muscles in the face and try to understand why the shape of a face is the way it is. Then work on trying to create those shapes only with lights and darks and watch the shapes form. I think you will be fine with a bit of practice and learning.

It depends on what you are trying for. In some styles
this would be very good, such as outsider art or low
ow.
But, if you're trying for realism just work a little more.
Joe gave some good advice.

I like your
ight and enthusiastic use of color and
ushwork in your painting. If you are looking for more realism then you may want to look as Joe says at the underlying muscles of the face so that you're giving more variation in values to explain the different planes of the face.
