This is inspired by an idea I first came across when in middle school from the story "To Build A Fire" by Jack London. In it the main character succumbs to the freezing temperatures in the Yukon, but before he does he has visions which eases his way into his demise. So here in this image, are the sirens a harbinger of what's to come, his salvation or the mirage of a doomed fisherman? I've been obsessed with this image for years, working on idea after idea and when I doodled up this one, I knew I had found what I was looking for. Enjoy.
