Ok, I've put this in the "Be Gentle" section, but will take whatever you'd like to say. This is an acrylic on 16 x20 canvas board. I did it about a year ago (I had stopped painting for several years, then last year the passion came back), but have to "
ush" up on the skill. I have a love/hate relationship with it. Thanks, Carol

I tried to insert a larger picture in here of the painting using the <img src....
but it didn't work.

So I am retrying by using the add attachment....here goes

I have one issue with this work. And that is the
ick wall looks to neat and clean. Perhaps if the wall look old and discolored. And the seams were somewhat unevan. A chip here and there. It may have a more interesting feel.

I can see why you have a love/hate relationship with it. It's as though your technical skills are not yet up to the level to execute your vision. The concept is wonderful, but there are a lot of problems in my opinion. An asymmetric opening in the wall would add more interestto the monotony of the
ick wall. The
icks are too flat, and the rose doesn't have much depth either. With a lot of realistic detail would make a very nice surrealistic piece as Joe said. I suggest come back to it after you develop more technical skills. Hope you don't mind my honesty, I'm not enjoying

John and Erika, thank you for your honesty. And I think that might be where my love/hate is. The concept was in my head but the skill wasn't there. Ah well, luckily acrylic is easy to repaint and do a bit of correcting.
Thank you for both of your suggestions also. Sometimes it hard to see the forest through the trees!
