I'm new here, a bit lost (my fault), but loving this community. I opened a blog 2 months ago to show what I love to do; collages.
Self taught to the bone.
I would be very happy if you pop in and comment.

Hello Filipa,
Welcome aboard. I am glad you found us. Your web site looks great. Nice layout and the images are very fun. I also like the blogroll snapshots. That is a cool feature.

all the best,

Hi Filipa, I like your collages, especially the Venus one. Can you tell us in a few words how do you create them? I don't know much about collage, but your works are interesting. Erika

Thank you Tom and Erika.
Inspiration comes from the Bible, Greek Mythology and stories around me.
Magazines, glue, acrylic paint and a bit of stress is all I need to start . Ripping paper is a fantastic anti stress, try it.

Ha-ha, I might try it one day. It looks like a lot of fun. Do you usually use a canvas or a board? Erika

I use cardboard, keep it easy and cheap. Filipa

Cardboard? How ingenious! I looked at the detail: so you glue on the pieces of paper and then fill in the rest with acrylics? There's also some texture, how do you get that? It almost looks like plaster. Sorry my ignorance, I really don't know anything about collage. Erika

Erika
Thank you for your interest, I do exactly like you said, the texture comes from a lot of acrylic paint and I use a very thin rubber
ush which obliges me to go up and down, left and right, grabing and dragging the paint.
I hope my english was good enough for you to understand.

If you have the time in my site check a collage named: TRIANGULO it is a good example (6th row next to CATARINA)
