Google forces change

Google has discontinued "Google Pages" and replaced them with "Google Sites"

This means that I have to start all over again.

Google Sites is not as robust and limited without java scripts. Still it is free, Site size is quite large (100mb) and the terms of use agreement is much more lenient than most other free web hosting.

Adds are also optional

This is my new web site. Just restarted. Will continue to develop as time allows.

I liked the web site and your work. In particular I enjoyed "Fishing on Carroll Creek". The site is a very straight forward approach to getting your information out there and looks very clean and professional. I have used goggle pages before and was never able to get them indexed in the search engines, has this revised version fixed that problem? I also didn't care for goggle's longer addresses that a person had to type in to get to my site. I don't recall seeing any contact informaton for you on the web site, like an e-mail link or a form page. I would think that would be essential otherwise it is just information without any follow through method. Also I would have been inclined to check out your blog after looking at your pages so an on site link to it might be a good idea. I realize this is a work in progress but these are just some things I thought of as I looked at it.

FinePencilArt: I went ahead and transferred the links and contact pages from the old site to the new one. I am only about half done with the galleries and drawings. Takes time a lot of when I seem to have so little.

My new sites were picked up by Google Search within 48 hours after they were created. The other search engines eventually pick them up most likely from external links or Google.

Follow the help page on sites and use webmaster tools on the main account page. Analytics is worth doing also. Listing your site page is just a mater of verification and cutting and pasting a couple codes into the general site management tool.

Special Projects each will have their own site and crossed linked to the gallery. "Second Genesis" is group of paintings being prepared for a major one man show in 2012. Nothing like a little lead time.

The best way to get listed in search engines is to post your link in other sites.
