Love on a Stick

Postby Erika Takacs » Thu Jul 24, 2008 2:36 pm

I thought this was a perfect title, but open to suggestions if you have a better one. I can't decide on colour, I might keep it white, depending how it will look when it dries. Hope it's not cheesy, if it is, I want to know.
Thanks for looking, and looking forward to your comments.

Lovely!

Very romantic and I don't see any eroticism at all!

What about...

'Don't Let Anything Get Between your Love!'

Does anyone know John Foxx original singer with Ultravox? There is a reason for this!

Erika I love this piece very much. Don't leave it white. I would give them body color and different colors for hair. You have better and better ideas. Wonderful work my friend.
I think Nigel's suggestion about title is perfect.

A good work. I would give the figures color. The base perhaps black. and the stick a wood color.
Perfection is what drives an artist.
The inability to achieve perfection is what creates a work of art.

I would leave it alabaster. Excellent, excellent, excellent. LEAVE IT PURE WHITE.

Thank you everyone for your comments. From what I hear it seems to me I pulled it off ok. I like Nigel's title, but it's a bit long. Same idea but shorter? I don't know that song, what's the reason?

I am trying to write to you E. and have a lot of problem with the connection
every 2 minutes it says Network time out. We had very heavy rain yesterday and maybe this is a reason for bad connection. I will try tomorrow.

Thanks Brian. Lots of great ideas for title, but I want something very basic yet powerful. The two opposites becoming one for a second. Entwined is close, but still not simple enough. How does "Becoming One" or even a simple "One" sound?

I may need to go with
onze if I can't get rid of the rusty stain on their head from the armature wire.

Hi Ericka... very nice piece... kind of reminds me of a couple VERY early Brancuzzi. I have to agree with dawn on color... simplicity is a major element for this piece.

all the best... Bruce

Thanks, Bruce. Do you mean Brancusi? I haven't see his early works, only his abstracts. I have to look.
Well, I found out later that the wire armature should have been sealed. It stained the back of his head. I'll try and add more mache to cover it when it's completely dry. Hope it helps because I agree with Dawn and you too about colour.

Hi Erika! This piece is so elegant and captures the beauty of being loving. "The Strength of Love" is what I would call it. Diana
