Here is an update on my underwater painting, I have a habit of black washing entire sections to redo them if I am not satisfied with the look. But I needed to do this to work wet on wet and spent about three hours creating the sand, an hour of that spent create the pearl.
Surprisingly it is almost finished. All that needs to be done is the fading sand ripples and glaze shading once it has dried. Oh and still in debate of sun rays.
That would be a small pearl, its not finished yet. I have to wait for the pearl to dry to add the glaze for more shadow and shine. I think I need to make the sand overlap it a bit more though. I will try to add in more objects but im unsure of what I could put in.
I like it a lot. The only thing I would say is that the surface ripples get beiger as they go lower down the screen meaning they don't look like the surface is disappearing into the distance, I scuba dive so I'm used to seeing the surface from underneath. if you narrowed/broke up that one large white ripple on the middle left it might help.
But I love the sand detail and the colours etc really nice.
