This is a oil painting of two little girls who were participating in a parade at a local rodeo which just cele
ated its one hundredth anniversary!
still quite a bit left, there costumes are so beautiful and colorful, i'm excited to finish it!

I likw what you have so far, again as I suggested to someone else, if you got rid of the white you would see that your values in thier faces could be darker. Just block in some shadows in all that white area in a sepia wash, and you will have a better assessment of where you need to go darker . The expressions and sky look very good so far.

Great study you've got here! Arlene is right. A sepia toned wash will help you with adding darker values to the faces and will warm up the painting.
Can't wait to see the finished painting!

I really like what you've done here so far!
I do agree with Alene's tip, as she was so nice to recommend it on one of my paintings, and it is helping me finish mine as well with more correct values.

I like your start here. I can see difficulty of your work. I can't give you any professional tips in oil painting as my medium is acrylic. I know , that Arlene and other MASTERS here are very happy to help us with some problems.
