putting final touches on "North Woods"

Comments and critique welcome. I plan to finish the "critter" in the lower left-hand corner and sponge in a rich black around the edges to make them a bit consistent, emphasizing the flora and fauna. One question: I think I may put more detail in the hanging Spanish moss...opinions?

More detail in the moss to balance. I would also do something to the butterfly to keep it separate from the bird, that is unless the bird has captured the butterfly.

As for the butterfly, yes, the bird has captured it and is about to eat it.

It is now a balanced composition with wonderful natural colors.
I like the wispy feel of it and therefore would suggest putting minimal detail on the moss. One thing I would also suggest is to make the white spot of the bird’s eye just a bit smaller. I will be watching for the finished piece, loving it so far.

Thanks, Airspun. As this is in the work in progress category, some details are still to be finished - notably, the bird's eye, which will actually be dark, for the most part, eyes and fur of the 'critter', 'cleaning up' the edges,
ightening the 'rust' colored parts, etc etc etc. No more moss you say? Hmmm - two opinions. What to do. Maybe compromise: a teensy bit of detail only.

FYI I just joined this forum. Looks like fun and I'm grateful for the feedback. I haven't had time to do a Gallery page yet or contribute more to the forum, but I'll do my best. Lots to do and always running to catch up.
