This is a very nice piece of work. The lighting is just right...highlights on the woman and dark background give great contrast and make the subject very pronounced.

Very enjoyable. I saw a picture once of a Victorian type woman in a stream that I wanted to replicate like this. Good gentle picture. Thanks.

Beautifully, perfectly done. Now, may I nitpick? The arc of water droplets descending from her right foot tell the viewer she has yanked her foot rapidly out of the water IMO. (Had she withdrawn it straight up, the droplets would fall vertically, right?) To me, the droplets are a distraction, lead the eye too rapidly downward, and make the viewer wonder if she has seen something startling in the water. When I hold my thumb over those dratted droplets, the woman appears in a seated repose. That said, again it is a lovely painting.

this is something that is for sure ,,very nice work

there is one thing in this that maybe looks a bit odd

now remember it is just the way i see it

but the feet look to big to me

Mike...let me begin by saying that I like this watercolor. Is it done in transparent watercolor/ opaque watercolor combo. ? Some of the color gives me the impression of being opaque.
I would have to agree with the comments regarding the water droplets; does tend to suggest sudden movement..., so the suggestion of "still too cold" might be right on; if that is what you intended.
To my eye the light source is somewhat confused. My
ain tells me the lower right leg should be shaded about half way between the highlights and the shading on the lower back... allowing it to recede ever so slightly. Mind this only my oppinion...., it's a lovely painting done in a challenging medium.

Hey Mike,
I have been looking at this for some time now. I believe this is in a class by itself.
Your use of light, contrast, color, selected detail and most important composition, from my take is so good. I can not offer any "what should be" or "how to improve" suggestions. This is just plain great art. I am impressed.
