Greetings from Cooktown Queensland Australia! We have Art!

Greetings to the members of this art forum. I am a hobby artist living in Cooktown, Queensland, Australia. I am also a member of the local Cooktown School of Art Society Inc and am web master for the group. We are lucky enough to have a small building in the main street right next door to the Post Office - the Elizabeth Guzsely Gallery. We cele
ated the 30th birthday for the art society and the 20th birthday of the gallery in 2008. For a population of 2,000 we have many talented artists.

We are trying to enter the wider art community to update and enliven our gallery and group. One way we have decided to do this is by creating out Cooktown Art Web Site at http://cooktownart.com.au/ and Cooktown Art Web Blog at http://cooktownart.blogspot.com/ and we are even on Twitter at http://twitter.com/Cooktown_Art so if anyone takes the time to have a look we'd love your feedback!

I even tried to start a Cooktown Art Forum at http://cooktownart.forumotion.net/forum.htm but may have to close this down as nobody seems interested in joining at present. This ASC forum certainly seems very active. Congratulations!

I have also started my personal art blog to post photos of my paintings at http://fayes4art.blogspot.com/ and would also value any feedback on my art.

Have checked out your web site Erika and your ASC Album. Wow! Love the life and texture in your work. The grandmother head is fantastic. Also love the low relief works. Amazing how simple materials can be turned into such works of art.
