Re: Remains - oil on canvas

I must say that I really like this painting. Perhaps apply what others have suggested by adding some more light through the tree canopy, and perhaps give the skull some more shape. I see the skull as being a bit flat. It wouldn't take much more work to enhance this great painting. If you choose to k...

Re: Jewelry Box Lid with Falls

I painted this jewelry box lid like 6-years-ago. Maybe when I get some time, I can take a better picture.

Thanks for viewing.

Recent Work With New Router

Hi everyone! Hope all of you nice people have been doing well. I haven't visited this great forum in a few months. I finally starting to work again. Got my work shop up and running, and purchased a new power tool; a fixed base plunge router. I am teaching myself how to use it. This is a sign I made ...

Re: Flowers - My Eyes!!!!

Elizabeth, you are very sweet. I think this painting looks just fine the way it is. I sometimes load my brush with 3 different colors. It's fast and fun! I do test runs on scratch paper to figure out what I want to accomplish. The brush shape depends on what kind of flower or leaf you are painting. ...

Re: Flowers - My Eyes!!!!

Elizabeth, flowers can be a real pain. I use acrylic paint all the time and know how hard it is to blend. I found that when doing flowers, loading your brush with the one stroke method and manipulating the brush while applying, you can get the desired depth in a flower. Then go back and fine tune it...

Re: Petunia's

I hope you didn't take the first piece and pull all the detailed work around? I can see that you put a lot of work into the 1st piece, it would be a real shame to loose all your time and effort. I know how long it takes to paint leaves and stems. I have, one several occasions, put time into a piece ...

Re: I Believe - Bob Ross

Thank you for sharing, I loved that video.

I learned some useful techniques from watching him.

I never went to art school so any tips or instruction were helpful to me.

Bob Ross creates tranquil rustic paintings easy on the eye.

He can teach anyone to paint.

Re: New Bedroom Project

Elizabeth and Jeanette. Thank you for the kind comments. I'm only doing a floral spray in the corners and over the door. I won't be running them down the whole length of the wall. These are not realistic , I was painting a similar flower as on the bed spread. My husband shows everyone who comes into...

New Bedroom Project

Hello everyone. Still don't have my workshop setup yet, but coming soon. It was only 18 degrees here yesterday morning. I'm getting sick and tired of this cold winter weather. Meanwhile I'm stuck inside doing some home renovations. Here are pics of my current project in our small bedroom. I will be ...

Re: portrait of my Grandaughter and the Queen

Your portraits are done very well. I especially love your granddaughter's portrait. Since the Queen is a WIP, it looks to me that the eye on the right is a little bigger than the other. Maybe bring the eyelid to the level and shape of the other one. But, perhaps the Queen actually looks like that. Y...
