Thank you both!

I tend to get stuck on perfection- fearing rejection for lack of it. It's hard for me to see my work from an outside point of view... to look at a mural as a whole. To accept it as being good enough.

Thanks for your input.

Tile Mural- carved Taro plant - not so nice...?

This is a Hawaiian Taro plant. Not only did I make the mural- I created the slate bathroom and shower it's installed in. I am a 6 year tile contractor by trade. I started making murals about 3.5 years ago on the side as a hobby. This plant was very hard for me to create out of stone! The toughest mu...

CARVED STONE MURAL beautiful new floral design

This is my favorite among the murals I've made lately. It's different than any I've done before- I created the design by combining the colors found in the homeowner's granite counter tops- and her like of tropical flowers- I've decided to established having randomly pieced together backgrounds as a ...

I have to admit I get a bit distracted by the particular "rear" view of the giraffe. It - perhaps unintentionally- adds a humor factor to it for me. I hope you don't mind my honesty.

I know exactly the fish you speak of- metal painted with enamel. Very good drawing of it. It does hint at it without giving it away to anyone who doesn't know what it is.

How large is the drawing ?

It seems an angry painting. Well balanced color.
Is there a theme for the series?

I'm not sure if it was intentional- but some of them seem two faced- which is a real aspect of what we have to deal with in society... people who are two faced. I like the centering of the white faces...

Striking painting.

FYI

A funny fact.... The copper dots you see are actually BB's (for a BB gun my kid
other bought for me randomly last Christmas) It's a good wholesome use for them I think.

Maybe darken the curtain a bit with a deep- but soft blueish/purple? I'm not sure- I'd like to see the figure stand out a bit more from the background. Do you have Photoshop? You can take your photograph and fuss with the colors and look on there till you find what feels right- then do it to the rea...

well...

I actually like how it appears in the first picture better... It's the depth of the yellows that makes it stand out. While you cannot alter this painting to match how it looks in the above picture- you might consider making a similar one in the future. It has a warmth that the actual one doesn't hav...

thank you

Thank you for responding! This was my first job under that much pressure and was actually surprised I was able to pull it off. I had to make 2 less than he first ordered to meet his first deadline- but he decided later that he was willing to have them a few days later- and added another the followin...

My latest "classic" style tile mural set

These were made to order for a condo in Florida last week. They were based on the style of one of the murals he'd sen on my website. They are what I'd call- Classic mural designs. I have to admit they do look sharp as a set. He later added 3 more small murals to the order. Its for his kitchen (BIG c...

Abstract 6 (turtle reef?) Tile Mural

Realized I never posted this one... Its 18"x18" Ceramic, slate, glass and marble I've decided it's a bit dark... but you can't exactly change the color of ceramic and stone like you might a painting. Perhaps just judge the composition. Have I achieved the greater sophistication some sugges...

Abstract 7 (turtle in space?) opinions please..

Here is my 7th abstract. It came together sort of randomly. Donated it to my paddling clubs auction- but having sent a picture of it to my other in Oregon (I'm in Hawaii) He instantly had to have it- so I bid for him on my mural and made sure he won. It's the first art I've made that he's liked enou...
