Re: Hit me hard - I'm ready for the fury.

I think I get what you're saying about an "even degree of abstraction." I hadn't thought about that, actually, but it makes sense. :)
Also, I agree with you about the top one looking unfinished. I doubt I'll get back to it soon, though.

Re: Hit me hard - I'm ready for the fury.

I agree with both of you about needing to smooth out parts of my art, but I do rather like having abstract parts to my pieces, like the top person's neck - though it may be too abstract. On that note. . . Thanks, Shelley, I didn't see the 7 actually, but now I do! LOL I'll work on that. Thanks, Joe....

Re: Undecided on background, HELP Please

I really like your flowers and the vase, but I think the idea of a window is a bit over-done. That does not mean that a window background would be beautiful, but most flower-in-vase paintings I've seen have a either a wall or a window behind them. I think a blurred figure, like you suggested, would ...

Hit me hard - I'm ready for the fury.

Please be honest with me here, but I'd also ask that you provide some advice in regards to whatever is failing (or at least not as good as it could be) in my art. I've posted some on Deviant Art, but I don't really get any visitors there. Thank you very much for your time. :D Info: These are digital...

Re: New to the forum, unleash the Fury.

I think your art is wonderful. Some people have a real problem with people who succeed when they "break the art rules," such as "don't draw/paint from photos." Who cares if you use photos? You talent is obvious in all of these pieces. The only critique I can think of giving is th...

Re: Sunflower Illustration Critique

I like this piece a lot. I like how vibrant the colors are and how well the flowers are posed. I think I would have liked to see some sort of background, though. I'm not sure what. Perhaps Singular's idea of muted colored paper is what I'm feeling is missing? The veins on the leaves on the right flo...

Re: Stained Glass Japanese Dragon

That is, like, eight types of fabulous. The colors snap, and the dragon's pose is wonderful in how it takes up the space and makes the eye travel. I have no fury to offer you.

Re: Self portrait

Really expressive! I really like the thicker courser strokes that bring out the feeling of that particular expression. Cool piece. :)
