Re: my 1st painting

I've been drawing for years. This is just my first experience with brushes and paint. In the interest of full disclosure, I did start another painting right before this. I'm doing it in full color though and have decided that i'm only using primary colors. Any variation of, I have to mix. This was p...

my 1st painting

acrylic on canvas. 18x24. Not the best photo. I need to mention that there are interference paints, pearlescents and metallics of a variety of hues woven throughout the picture. In abundant ambient light(afternoon sun in my apt) she glows. The colors shift depending on where you're standing and aren...

Itconcur

These are great images. As far as being able to draw whats in your head, that just takes practice and a lot of looking for the small victories. When I started, I actually used porn mags. Theres a huge source of models in a variety of positions. I would never let myself look at the picture while I dr...

excellent

I love it. I'm actually working on a piece with a few similarities. May I ask what medium you used for this piece?

thanks

Thank you both. The scan doesn't do it justice. This piece almost looks like a photo negative. I did it with ball point ink i smeared on with twisted up toilet paper. It has a purplish hue to it. Oddly enough, i had only been drawing a couple of years when i did this. I'm getting ready to revisit th...

kudos

The drawing is great. I have nightmares about stippling though i do plan on returning one day. This is on paper correct? Have you considered taking it in to kinkos to get it scanned? They can be a bit pricey. Around here they charge 25 to scan something that size. However, you might look around and ...

impressive

I'm with you on the whites. The
own, even with a short coat i think there would still be some of those lines. Not to take anything away from you. The dog is impressive. You've definitely got a feel for it.

funny

Be glad it was only an ear. I've drawn a hand on a person backwards! haha. I was messing with comic style drawing. Personally, i think the white horse looks better. Were it me, on the own, I would add small dark displays of hair (short small lines). Only sporadically though. Hair/fur is difficult to...

work in progress

This is one of several pieces that I'm working on currently. All that is on the paper at this point is chalk pastels. I haven't even sprayed it yet to let me get back in there and sharpen up those lines. The background is going to be something i haven't attempted in years. I'll skip the actual conte...

Experiment 1 and 2 were both completed line drawings that I replicated from another line drawing not of my creation. I was scrambling to fill whatever within the confines of the lines i had already placed on the paper. These are really my ain wandering because i think i was more focused on learning ...

experiment 1

This is the first piece of art that I completed that was larger than 8x11 and involved more than a #2 pencil. I started to take some college art classes a couple of years ago. I didn't finish the semester. This was originally supposed to be just a line drawing. We were given a line drawing of this o...
