Good morning V.R. I see you have added me as a friend. Thank you. May I do the same? I never do the add a friend thing without asking first.

Asancta, forgive me if I've bothered by criticism. I wish you a successful painting career and remember that an artist is always learning. Goya has a pencil drawing of a little old man with a credit that says: "Even I learn." That is the reality of every artist.

What I mean is that your style is not purely abstract expressionism, indeed, I see more realism than other style in your paintings. I would say that is a kind of realism with a little abstract and expressionism almost nothing.

Asancta, I recognize the styles of painting when I see a picture, and not criticize an abstract painting based on the rules of hyperrealism or any other style. I do a critique of a painting based on the style in which is painted that picture, that's elementary. It is also true that each style has its basic rules, that means to paint a good picture must be taken into consideration, not everything is allowed if you want to make a good picture. If you do a portrait putting the point of interest in the look, you should try to highlight that look and not make it disappear, because then you get a background with a portrait, rather than a portrait with a background, for example. And that is independent of whether hyperrealistic, impressionistic or almost abstract expressionist-like your style, because your style also has realistic concepts. The reviews do not kill, they teach to progress. Very good luck.

Hello :) About your work "Titania": The idea is good but I do not like how you've treated the face. The colors are muted over the ground and it has no volume. If you look at those colors that you put around the face: red and gold, you will clearly see that those colors will remove much prominence to face very distracting. Hair too much confused with the face, it's like a pale spot. However, the gesture and the look I like. About "Primavera" also I can see the skin are blend with the background, and "Maenad is a little bit better, but the the woman's body, the skin, is lost, while the background shows. If you improve these aspects, I think you can do some nice work. Well done.
