This article is based on my interviews with best selling Imagekind photographers. Or perhaps you’ve already achieved some success and now you’re hungry for more. I interviewed two of Imagekind’s best selling photographers. My mission: to find out exactly how they achieved their success. Read on to find out what I learned. view full article here
Many art materials produced today are safe to use, but only if reasonable precautions are taken. Artists’ materials may contain volatile solvents, lead, harmful dust, or other toxic substances. As an example cadmium is an extremely toxic metal found in today’s oil paints (cadmium red, cad yellow, etc.). Lead, arsenic, chromium, silica dust, etc., can also be found in selected art materials. These art supplies can be purchased but with the caveat that their availability in the marketplace assumes proper manufacturing techniques, use, disposal, and so on. view full article here
Two-Point Perspective, Depth, and Accuracy - by Richard Kennedy
Two-point perspectives differ from one-point perspectives in their use of a second vanishing point. They also differ in another way: two-point perspectives never have horizontal lines. All lines except verticals are drawn to a vanishing point. Their are many ways to draw two-points, the best methods being ones we can easily remember and apply to the design process with relative quickness. We will study the measuring point method of setting up a two-point perspective. view full tutorial here
Matching Colors - by Bill Martin
A rainbow gives us pure examples of the basic colors of the visible world. The rainbow's colors are, in order, red-violet, red, red-orange, orange, yellow-orange, yellow, yellow-green, green, blue-green, blue-violet and violet. When this order of colors is formed into a circle we have the color wheel. The color wheel is an essential tool for matching colors. The wheel is arranged with yellow, the lightest value color at the top and violet, the darkest value color at the bottom. view full tutorial here
