The Upstream People Gallery presents an exhibition with 12 month's gallery representation, from June 1, 2009 through May 31, 2010, with approximately 900,000 hits each month. Open to all artists worldwide. Original works in collage, digitial and all mixed media. All artworks including alternative media, paintings, sculpture, prints, drawing, photographs, papier colle, assemblage, installation, digital manipulation, ceramics, fiber and other.
Cash Awards of Excellence and Special Recognitions will be given at the juror's discretion; the amounts and number of which is determined by the entries and their quality. Specially recognized artists will be reviewed in the juror's statement published worldwide and sent in a press release to the artist's local newspaper(s).

Still Point Art Gallery invites submissions from emerging and established artists for its upcoming exhibition: Dwellings. Where do we live? How do we live? What do our dwellings look like? How do they feel? Are they houses, homes, condos, apartments, yurts, homesteads, or fixer-uppers? How do we shape our dwellings? How are our dwellings impacted by cultural, geographic, and economic forces? Do we live by the sea, on a lake, high on a mountain, in a city, or far down a rutted road in the country? This exhibition will respond to these and similar questions about how we shape our dwellings.
Open to artists 18 years of age or older living in the United States who submit original artwork in any medium except video and wearable art. Final selections for the exhibition will be made by the Gallery Director, Christine Brooks Cote. Three Artists of Distinction will be chosen who will be invited to participate in a group show in the spring of 2010.

Richeson School of Art & Gallery, a division of Jack Richeson & Co., Inc., is proud to announce the Richeson 75 Figure / Portrait 2009 Competition. Seventy-five two-dimensional works of art and several alternates will be selected to represent the finest examples of painting and drawing being produced by today’s visual artists. The following prizes will be awarded:
Best In Show - $3,000. First Place in each category will receive a $1000 certificate for art materials from Jack Richeson & Co., Inc. Second Place Award in each category will receive a $500 certificate for art materials from Jack Richeson & Co., Inc. 75 Finalists and a number of

Art vs. Design - An international Open Call for Unique Talent. This contest is designed to answer the age old question: What shapes our world more, art or design? Opportunities will be created for everyone who participates and we are awarding over $11,000 in prizes.
Mark Mothersbaugh, acclaimed artist and lead singer of art-rock band DEVO leads a panel of judges including Jarrett Gregory (curator at NYC's New Museum) and Donwan Harrell (founder and creative director of Akademiks clothing) in selecting the top artist or designer to be featured at a gala reception at the New Museum in June. The public also plays judge - determing the most powerful medium of the moment - in an online face-off that pits art submissions against design submissions.

Our next book will be America: Impressions of these United States. The intended size is 8.5x 11 inches, and the target length is in excess of 150 pages. The intended date for printing is 2011 or earlier. The subject matter is intended to be as open as possible; anything from armed forces art to poems about U.S. history to photos of fields in the Midwest will be considered. Also remember Americana and great American crafting traditions. The subject also extends to historical.
Art, Essay, Short Story and Poetry will be accepted. We would like to include as many artists, artisans, and writers as possible. Additional volumes may be considered. The cost of submission will be US $5 per individual submission, with a maximum of 5 per person.

Seeking original artwork (realistic or representational) in any two-dimensional medium that reflects the beauty and uniqueness of flowers, such as oil, acrylic, watercolor, botanical illustration, colored pencil or pastel.
