Very well captured; the scene, the mood, the way the sun strikes bringing out the gold, orange and greens that this area is so well known for. I have spent many hours in this marvellous landscape and you, through your stunning capture, have helped me rekindle some beautiful memories ... thank you :-)

You are welcome. I understand the forever working it out thing. I have some paintings I finished in a day and some that took over 3 years to finish.

Thanks so much Carl and ehoeveler! This one took forever to work out...

El Greco, yes. In particular the 'View of Toledo' painting. This is such fun looking at work like this when I am taking breaks, or just goofing off.

Indeed - what Carl said - Such drama in the sky and a nicely gradual appearance of cool-to warm colors. Imagery is just right - I like the tiny town which seems to be a proper extension of that interesting brushwork in the mountain just above. El Greco comes to mind with this. Thank You, E

Yes, this is a 5 and I have rated it so. Now the why. The color control between the form busy browns and greens on half of the painting juxtaposed against a lazy swirl of the grey monochromatic sky simply works. The eye is first centered on the central bluff, drifts up into the sky, drifts down the busy left side to the highlighted mountains then down into the grass only to follow the trail back to the single bluff. Three point eye movement. You know what you are doing. Congratulations.
