Falling Through The HourGlass

by kurbie9
This painting tells a story, about a women trapped. It represents the fiery red theme because she is burning from the inside out. As time goes by, she is slowly fading away and she can't do anything to change it. The inspiration for this painting came from a poem I wrote about a mother who passed and now the father is left alone trying to take care of their kids and all she can do is watch, as the time keeps fading away...

I agree about the face, it struck me in a comic angst sort of way at first, rather then the twisted, infinite, pain of the description. I rather like it this way but more realism would def bring out the dark-side. Keep going for that old Disney feature film look in my opinion:)

A very well thought-out idea and application.
I still find myself wanting to have that face in the hourglass
painted a little more realistically. Right now, 'she' looks
like an Alka-Seltzer commercial. Thanks, Ehoeveler

This really caught my eye! Some very strong symbols, and an interesting interpretation/technique. My initial impression evoked a more positive emotion then after I read your story, interesting how a persons emotional response to an image can change when presented with a written interpretation/description of it. Good job!
