Santa Rosa Lake 1

by CarlOwen
There are six paintings in this collection. Santa Rosa lake is a man made lake created by a dam build in the 1930's by the WPA. There are several such lakes in New Mexico created by the WPA. It is a very quiet lake most of the time. However, the sky is not. In the early morning and the late afternoon the sky is magnificent much of the time. This is my attempt to capture the serenity of the lake juxtaposed against the ever changing movement of the sky.

Thank you. It took me a few years to learn how to paint rocks underwater. Finally learned how by closely examining paintings from another artist on this site. And, man was he ever good.
