Whoa girl! Slow down a bit. Take 24 hours before you do anything. Print off a copy of this painting. Change nothing before you experiment on the copies. Make at least 5 copies, then decide. Do not be so ready to change anything just because another artist suggests something. Be wary that the artist may have an undisclosed agenda. I have met a few of them in my lifetime. Think before you act. Or, look before you leap. And, yes the online picture always pales compared to the real thing.

Maybe I should just add that the real painting is slightly sharper in colors and in contrast than the photo...

Yes, this is brilliant, Carl! I think I will just do that!

Since I keep coming back to look at this just for one more look it meets my personal standards. I Changed my mind about the rating comment. You got my 5. As to the zebras, I would very sparingly increase the white brightness only on the backs of either 3 or 5 of the 12 to give the illusion of spotted sun openings of the canopy above.

Thank you ehoeveler for your positive comment. Thank you also to CarlOwen for your valuable feedback. I almost tried to blend the zebras in with the foreground as to place more emphasis on the trees, but I understand what you mean by the shading of the zebras....taking note indeed!

I agree with Elizabeth's comments except for the zebras. Now a few of my own. I am not rating anyone's work for a while. I see the size of this painting. It should be large to get the impact of the presentation since the colors are muted reminiscent of the art deco period of the 1930's lithographs. Nice. The Zebras are a bit stiff and not properly shaded according to the assumed light source. The dimensionality of the landscape is magnificent as is the composition of the foreground.

This classic rendering really shows your love of the land and it's inhabitants - the colors are serene and rich without being too hyper. Very nice portrayal of the zebras. Thank You, E
