This piece depicts the Mehndi ceremony in Indian culture. This piece is part of a 12 piece series I created on Indian weddings. The dull background contrasts with the bright red headscarf which allows the figure to stand out. By drawing directly on the background paper, the different textures of paper are emphasized.
