Jewelry Box Lid with Falls

Postby kcortese » Thu Sep 10, 2009 1:08 pm

Hi!

Did some finished touches on the Jewelry Box lid which origianally had a bunch of flowers. I sanded off the flowers and painted Cucumber Falls on it instead. I enjoyed painting the falls very much. The flowers seemed to aggravate me.

This pic is of course with my crappy digital camera, when the paint dries, I'll scan it so everyone can see the fine detail of this piece. The camera lost 75% of the detail and color.

Here is the best pic out of around 10 that I took today.

Hi Karen!
It is a bit blurry(photo), but I can tell this is an amazing piece!
I LOVED what you were doing with the flowers, but can certainly understand when we just aren't "feeling" our work.
So, the choice to rework this piece has been a great one after all, IMO, as this is one fantastic painting!
Can't wait to see a slightly better pic of it, and also am so happy to see your paintings, as they are all very well done! :D (insert thumbs up here)!
You are one very talented lady, keep 'em coming!

Thanks Barb,

I wasn't happy doing the flowers, maybe they were boring to me. Enjoyed painting the falls because I love the outdoors and nature.

I'm working on a horse painting right now and showing progress in WIP. Hoping to have it completed this weekend.

I painted this jewelry box lid like 6-years-ago. Maybe when I get some time, I can take a better picture.

Thanks for viewing.
