MINI MINI COOPER SCULPTURE

Postby MarshallSnook » Thu Jun 01, 2017 6:13 am

This is a sculpture I made as a graduate teaching assistant under Joe Moss at the U of Del in the mid 1970s.
This was exhibited at the Walnut Street Theater invitational sculpture Show in Phila. pa. as well as pub
lished in Motor Trend Magazine. also part of a one man show I had at Bloomsburg University.

Ha! I love it. Should be real easy to find parking spots for that one.

This sculpture also had some real high tech 1970s vintage electronics. in it.
I had a photo cell switch behind the grill. and an 8 track tape player in the trunk with a recording of a Jaguar V12 engine. with a bright light shining on the front of the sculpture. viewers who walked in front of the car and made a shadow would be greeted by the sound of a hefty v12 engine roaring. ( only vampires do not make shadows)
At the Walnut Street theater show in Phila. someone broke into the car and stole the tape player.(probably a vampire who did not want to be outed??)
This event made the news in Phila. (a little free extra publicity)

These are some photos I found. My Sister in Law is the model. This shows its actual size. It was once a real mini. Cooper.

These are some photos I took of my sculpture ,where I made it. at The University of Delaware.
