Begining: Tristan & Isolde

Postby painterx@hotmail.com » Fri Aug 19, 2016 1:39 pm

Beginning work on the painting "Tristan & Isolde." Here I'm laying in the tonal values. Once that's complete I'll be glazing colors over in thin layers until I build up to the finished painting.

Well, here's the latest update. Nearly all tonal values laid in and now it's time to start adding the color.

looks great, always interesting to see a painting come together in stages and how other artists go about things!

Just a little tweaking left but for all intents and purposes this is done. I gave myself a deadline of mid to late September and finish about two weeks earlier, but I was putting in ten to twelve hour days. Now on to the next painting. Thanks to all who looked.

my pleasure! I (even thought it was rather beautiful while unfinished in the beginning stages, you could sell prints of the beginning for people to color in!) You might even publish a series of such romance pics for people to color! I have yet to see one!

Thanks, it's an interesting idea. But my hands are full as it is and if anything I am hoping to do a Kickstarter next year to help finance a book of my drawings. The drawing of this painting will probably be in there.
