The lab is perfect with his human eyes. Technically they're all very well done, you're very talented. My favourite one is the Madhouse though. It looks like a very personal piece, but quite an accomplishment from an esthetic and technical point of view as well.

I love these dog portriats. And the other paintings too. The drawing of the small monkey is very nice. You don,t see very many paintings like this. I think perhaps paintings of dogs and cats are hard to do. Your very good at it.
Perfection is what drives an artist.
The inability to achieve perfection is what creates a work of art.

Thanks guys, my favorite is Madhouse Erika, it is personal and it was the last painting I remember feeling totally connected to, it evolved instead of being finished in my head before I started. The rest are just a random selection, I used to do quite alot with a pallet knife, mainly of fruit, and then I kind of got stuck into painting things that sell...hence the dog portraits....its something I have struggled with.

Painting for pleasure/self exploration and the need to earn a living, but also the feeling that theres pressure to have a 'style' you become known for. I never quite got my head around it...although it was easy to give advice to students on this subject.

I am lucky at the moment as I don't have to go out to work (not that we don't need the cash) but I have agreed to staying home to take care of Hayden so this is really an ideal time to creatively explore and re find my mojo...am hoping I can anyway.

Thanks again, moon x

So this is a good time for you to just sit down and go for whatever comes to mind and never mind about the results. Just try enjoying it. You might even wanna try a different medium for a change. All the best, Erika

You are a real artist. Every piece shown speaks for your talent. I am especially touched by "Beau". E
