Mo23's"The Other Side"

This is a forum where you can post your art work and ask what the world thinks. I am looking for general feedback, nothing too technical. A push in the right direction would be appreciated.

Mo23's"The Other Side"

Postby Mo23 » Thu Sep 26, 2013 12:33 am

I have been drawing for, well the better part of 50 years and during those years I have seen art change in styles, tastes, mediums and over all appreciation of a number of times it seems.I have changed with it to a point but as an artist I have a certain style that I can or that I want to change only so much so I'm just kind of curious if a piece of art like this one of mine can still compete or keep up with the art of today.

It certainly can. Just remember that art is like fashion in a sense - styles evolve and revolve.
The most important thing is that you paint in the way you feel the most. Never try to copy what
you think is "new" unless you're absolutely relating to it and feeling it.
Your work is interesting, appealing and shows that you can draw nicely and use color effectively.
Thank You, E

I really love your work, and I like all kinds, old Masters and modern new mediums and styles. Those trees look alive. And the bridge reminds me of many I have seen. Your work makes me feel, think, remember. That is aces for art in my book, touching the viewer.

I think this is quite nice. I like your use of symbolism, and I especially like your composition. It swirls around like "Great Wave off Kanagawa." Also, I agree with ehoeveler about painting things you feel connected to. People are still painting all kinds of art from primitive to current. Paint what matters to you and then your audience will connect to it, because it says something.

Oh absolutely...
I actually like the fact that your work has such detail but color, but also has an element of delicate which can be pleasing in many applications.. as fine art. as a book illustration..
May your world be painted in the Brightest of colors!
