Hi I'm new here and have been reading a few posts. I would really like it if someone could have a look at my latest painting and give me a crit on it. Just my friends and family have seen it and as nice as they are you never know what 'other' people think and being an unconfident kinda new artist I would really appreciate any feedback - good or bad if you could take the time.

This is very good. Hard to believe you are a new artist. I think you have a lot of talent and will only get better the more you do. Are you using oils? I recommend you soften the edges a bit with cleaner lines. Might need use a bit more medium to make the paint a bit thinner to create that clean "line". But very n ice job!

Let me just say that your off to a great start!
I do wanna point out that the eye "lid" (or what it's called), the one to the left is a bit sharp on the edge and looks like it is a bit off.

All things considered, good job!

Wold like to know a bit more about the painting..
What medium did you use?
How big is it?

thanks guys so much for the comments its in oil on daler board and its 16" x 12" i agree about the eyelid on the left, i need to build up my patience i think, i have done a few but i seem to loose motivation on them and then they kinda stay as they are - i need to develop the perfectionist in me maybe

Agree with Joe about the lines but I will say that you
are also off to a super start with this.
When you lose patience just walk away for as long as it takes.
Many was the painting ruined because I had to 'git 'er done'.
