I love this!! Seems like something one might see under an electron-microscope.

Basically if you made it on a computer with pixels, yes digital art. I think that is the answer to what you meant by asking the short-hand kind of question.

akin to "Can haz cheezburger?"

Well now Nigel, that depends. I think the definition of art is subjective. It is pretty close to being a spiritual belief kind of thing.

I pretty much have embraced it, it is new but it is still a way to produce images that evoke imagination, emotion, and thought. You can represent something specifically, or do something very abstract - or combine both. There are Digital Art museums, so that lends some official kind of credence to digital art being art. Especially when done by digital artists  lol

Do you recall the arguments made concerning Duchamp's "Readymades"? That is a good one to read up on when trying to figure out what kind of art is art. What makes art art :?:

To be or not to be, that is the question.

Gimp works for a free PS typa deal! for brushes and things check out DA! I haven't had my photoshop up for too long now... so I can try to remember some others if you need! planetrenders.net is great for doing sigs and thumbnails, yanno!

Digital art is art! look at CD covers! It's rare to find one hand drawn any more.. it's all in the mind of the buyer/liker! I'd say 70+% on my DA is Digital done with PS5 and lower! LMFAO! Even did one on Paint for a forum thread >_<
