the good shepherd - thy rod and thy staff they comfort me

Postby horseman » Mon Oct 08, 2012 2:35 pm

Here is my pencil drawing of Jesus Christ touched up with B&W digital painting.

It's part of a three-in-one picture project I am working on. This is only one of the three pictures. It will be at a blogspot where I talk about my inspiration for the piece. Feedback from other artists and those that enjoy art helps me. This part is done but I am working on the other parts. I have not decided if I am going to paint it or not.

Feedback would be greatly appreciated.

This is fantastic work. I do not think it could possibly be better painted. But if you decide to paint it, I would definitely keep this version as is and then recreate for a painted version. I can't wait to see the other two.

all the best,
Joe

Totally agree with Joe. This is wonderful.
Are you the artist who drew 'Jesus Wept'? E.

I definitely wouldn't paint this piece. The shading is wonderful and I would be so scared it wouldn't be as smooth and perfect if you added paint. Just beautiful.

Thanks Joe. Yes E., I did that Jesus Wept you are remembering. Thanks alilspunsugar. When I paint my pieces I do so digitally, preserving the pencil layer to itself. I call it the pencil layer, but in fact is is the pencil work that has been touched up with black and white digital painting. Thanks for the feedback.

Another question. Is there anything... odd/off about the face?

I'm looking and am hard pressed to see anything of notice.
What do you think is off? E.
