New works

Postby bpier » Tue Jan 31, 2012 12:54 am

Hey guys. It's been a very busy New Year so far. Here are a few of the new paintings I have completed in the past couple of weeks. The first is a 24x30" winter scene of which I do very few. The second is a 22x28" scene in Door County WI, the third A 24x48" beach scene I did from a photo I took this past summer of North Point Beach titled "Hunting for Treasure" and the fourth a pair of 9x12" oils of a Chicago street scene titled "Street Reflections" . Thanks for looking. Hope everyone had a great New Year.
Best regards, Brian

Gorgeous work Brian. I would hang each one of these in my home. What is your color palette for the first painting (winter scene)? I love the glow.

all the best,
Joe

Hi everyone. Thank you for all the replies and I'm sorry it has taken me so long to respond. I can't seem to find enough time in the day to get on the computer. Hi Joe. To answer your question, I used Naples yellow hue, a little raw umber and a touch of titanium white to get the glow in the winter scene.
Warm regards, Brian

Wow Brian! Incredible work here! I am totally in love with two, but they are all excellent! My first fav. is the Boat dock scene- the reflections are just superb and the atmosphere is just perfect! I also love the winter scene, lovely light and snow, and tress, well heck(!) I just love the way you've rendered EVERYTHING in that one!
Have you had success with Gallery representation? I know you had spoken of it sometime back, has that been successful? Forgive the question, but I just feel strongly that your work is so very good that it should be represented by top notch Galleries!

Hi Barb. Thank you very much. I would love to get into some of the better galleries but I'm not the best in the area of marketing as is so for so many artists. The galleries I'm in have been pretty sucessful selling several of my paintings especially lately. Thanks again.
Best regards, Brian

Lovely! I particularly like the winter painting.
