Comic art....comical?

Postby LJM » Thu Jan 28, 2010 1:24 pm

There needs to be a section for amature art like this, but I can't find it. Yes, is comic-like because it is done of characters for a webcomic that I diddle around with. This is a illustration for a calendar page that I am working on. Not really fine art, but still a creation. I likes to doodle and design cool clothes.

Amateur? Hardly the word I would have chosen-this is exceptional! The clothes are something we'll probably be wearing in the future I'm guessing...very Well done!!! What program did u use?

Thanks, that's very nice of you, way nice, in fact.
I wouldn't mind wearing something like this in the future, with a few modifications, that is.
I use three programs. First I ink it in Manga studio, because you can get a variation of line width with their
ush tool. Then I use Photoshop for the main coloring and painting. I use Paintshop Pro for a few finishing touches. (For the comic that I do I use paintshop for the text and word ballons.)

Definantly a wacom tablet. A big one that I got off ebay. I used to do digital art with a roller-ball mouse......that was interesting.
And thanks, Erika. Nice of you to comment.

Double thanks--but compared to the great stuff you all have going here, I can't help but feel somewhat 'unpolished'. Always looking for new post with more art to look at! Wonderful stuff!

Actually I think you underestimate yourself. Very nicely done and work like this I would classify more as Fantasy art than comic.
