A New Photo

Postby Parabola » Mon May 15, 2006 8:31 pm

Here is a new photo that I took about a month or so back. It was taken at Bakers Beach in Tasmania, Australia.

Cheers,
Cam

That is absolutely amazing my friend. You are some talent. The point of view at which you took that shot is extremely interesting.

Your color filtering gives this a very post-apocolyptic feel. It's both stimulating and depressing at the same time. I like it!

It's intriguing

:D
The interesting part comes from the extreme vp
but also due to the fact that in the foreground
there is a termination point.

That point makes this look like the literal
end of the world.

It is both surreal and beautiful and definitely apropos
for our times.

Large scale it would have quite the impact.

You are a good shooter with your own
visual vocabulary.

If you are consistent you will have quite the
amazing career I believe.

Keep up the work and don't forget to play!

My first thought viewing the photograph reminded me of the poem "Foot Prints." The beauty is really amazing! Keep up the good work!

i would have to say it is amazing. It almost doesn't look real. But that is one of the beauties of photography.

Fixed corner composition

Postby LCupino » Wed Jun 21, 2006 12:35 pm

I really enjoy the 'disturbing' tilt of the camera & filter/light choices for what otherwise might be a very peaceful scene. One thing about your composition that is bothering me is that each corner is stuck with some sort of distraction: horizon departs,
ight sun/clouds, squished 'negative' space in the bottom right, along with sand hole on bottom left leaves my eyes circling too quickly around - which does add to the intensity. The center is ignored - the expanse you chose to place as focal point is fought with extravagantly. Otherwise incredible.
