Back to life after a short death

Postby krysta11 » Sun May 17, 2009 7:43 pm

Hello everyone,

It took me already around 30 hours to paint this wonderful story. It is still not finished.

Friend of mine asked me if I could paint her return to life after very serious operation. She told me what she did see just before she woke up.
OMG! After asking her a few questions I decided to try but didn't promise anything to her. It was so difficult to imagine her falling down into the creek with a very clear water , full of colorful rocks.
Everything you see on my painting was exactly described to me by my friend.

I am still working on hands and feet and shading.

Thank you very much for viewing. Suggestions very welcome.

Wow! That's a very interesting story associated with this painting you are doing K!
As usual, I love your vi
ant colors.
I'm sorry, but is she just falling from the sky? I understand this is a 'vision' she had before she woke up from operation, but I'm just trying to better understand your friend's thoughts so to make any suggestions.
I think you have a wonderful painting here K and cannot wait to see it completed. :)

K, you've got her clothes, face and hair right, but I'm not sure about the limbs. I could see her falling with streched arms and feet, as a bird. But maybe that's how she told you. Her face is beautiful. I love the colourful rocks in the water, but the more colourful flowers dominate above them. It's not easy to paint someone else's dream, that's for sure. You're
ave to have taken it on.

Hi Barb,

Thank you for commenting on my painting. It is very difficult painting, based on somebody's story. Very risky because you will never exactly know how an environment was looking like. Colours, shapes. I am using my imagination here only. She was falling from the light . It wasn't even sky.

The girl ( difficult position) was suppose to be above creek (She dropped into the water and woke up.) In my painting she looked to me like jumping on the grass. Oh Gosh, it is hard . I think I will cover it with one colour paint.

:)

I tried to make some changes but I don't really know it will be better.

K,
I hope you won't get mad...but I like the first version better.
I only asked my earlier question because I agree with Erika's assessment about the limbs. Maybe you could look at some pics on internet of skydivers...that would help with placement of the limbs a bit more accurately.
I know it will be a fabulous work, so don't give up! I can see this is difficult work, but, YOU can do it, no doubt in my mind!
Hugs!

Crawling out of her dilemma perchance.

Again done in your beautiful style.

Barb thank you sweetheart, but I was in trouble already. She didn't like it at all.
Her position was like a grasshopper hahahaha and I was ordered to remove her immediately from the painting . The most important for her was what she did see not herself.

But just between us artist . It was very difficult and artistic position . I had my good imagination of falling person into the creek. Do you agree?
Oh, Gosh, It is hard to paint somebody's dream.I am not going to do it ever again.

Oh, well,

As I said E, it is impossible to paint somebody's dream . I can paint mine easily.

I am missing this falling girl too. It looked more unreal and more like a dream. Now it is just landscape.

Actually, Krysta, now I'm thinking we were maybe too conventional to criticize her pose. It's a dream afterall, any twisted pose could work. Dreams have nothing to do with reality or conventions. I guess what I'm trying to say go wild if you need to, go surreal. I'm looking forward to your progress.

K,
I agree with Erika, she needs(deserves) to be put back into painting. I miss her too!
I think with just a bit of study, you would be able to paint her back in in a more "conventional" pose, meaning a falling that would depict that thought. Does that make sense?
I hope so, because the painting isn't the same w/o her!
I KNOW you can do this K! Don't give up on her!

:P :P :P

Hello ,

You wouldn't believe what I have done . Now it is my dream. I completely changed this painting.
Tomorrow I will upload my image. Now it is impossible.

I am sure , that if 100 artists -painters herd about dream my friend told me , every painting would be different.
I decide to use my own version in my painting.

I'll see you tomorrow.

K

I really like it. It looks like a fantasy, sort of magical. I love the color of the sky.
