When adding artwork to the gallery, you can upload to your gallery and include it in other public albums such as "Paintings" or "Photography". However, when you enter a contest, that image can not be added to your gallery because once the contest ends, the album is locked form anyone editing their images. Because of that, if you want that artwork to be added to your gallery as well, you need to upload it again.
