Bingo with the darker look in my personal opinion...but I also like the first
because the colors and value are different from the terrain...Shoot! I'm torn.

I think both have a cool vibe. I say, try working in some value opposites with each tree?
A little dark here and there in the first (just a lil' something...) and some lighter green
selectively placed mini-streaks in the second? Try it and see if you like it.
