Do you have a way to remix the colors you already used exactly? Or a close approximation? If so mix them then add either yellow, blue, red to them to get a harmonizing color. For example an orange can have red or yellow added to it to harmonize it one way or another. You can also add white to get different tonal values. I use burnt umber and ultramarine blue to make a black that can add a darker tone. It's richer than other blacks. Hope that helps! :D

That stinks. :( Something I do to help, if I know a painting isn't going to be finished in a 24 hr period I keep a notebook with my color recipes for it. That way I can go back and get the same colors. I also have a color mixing recipe book called, "Color Mixing Recipes; for oil and acrylic" by William F Powell published by Walter Foster its sells at B&N for $10. Has like 450+ colors in it using the standard set of paint colors. Plus a plastic grid so you can be precise if you want to. I normally need more or less than they have you mix so I just eyeball it. It is a great book to have around though as it has some really useful recipes. I still end up writing down the recipe number and page number, but that's easier than writing down all the paint names and quantities.

I would add more red/orange color to the animals - to make color of animals similar to color of red leaves from the left corner... But it's just me ;-)

Thank You both and that's what I worked on last night - better?
I'll finesse the fur more (give some highlights as well) and add some
other finishing touches. Craig, thanks for the book title - I may buy that! :D

Could you fill me in on the joke? I honestly don't get it. I know I said you're welcome for giving you the title of a book I find useful, that was being sincere. So I'm missing the humor. I didn't comment on your painting, because I want to see where you take it. Also I am not sure what style you are trying to achieve with it.

Just having fun with the profusion of thank you's and so forth but don't get me wrong - I love it!
Style-wise, it's getting a little crazier. I think you'll like the finished product. E
