Farm Lanscape Painting

Hi Everyone!

I haven't posted anything here in a while, so I decided to post this WIP I started this morning. I should finish it up later today or Saturday morning.

Acrylic on Canvas board 16" x 8".

By the way, my water isn't tilted, the canvas board is. Sorry.

I have done many pieces since my last post, but didn't want to bore all you with my rustic art.

Erika, this pic is a base for composition and I have completed some more work in this little painting. I will post the final at the end of the day.

I will need to get a custom frame for it. I doubt that there are any 8x16 ready mades. Or is there?

Have been busy with my signs.

Here is a pic of my latest one which is a commisioned piece. The subjects are burnt into the wood "pyrography" and the buck slightly stained with some watered down acrylic paint.

I recently purchased a scroll saw. Cut out the letters and glued them onto the log slice for raised lettering. The owner of the sign was very happy with his purchase.

I have completed and sold many signs, but don't want to bore all you by posting them.

I like the raised lettering but they take some time to cut out, and I
oke 3 blades so far. Hopefully I'll catch on by not forcing the wood while going against the grain.

Here are a couple of my most recent. I have one that I applied the finish to this morning, and am burning another which should be done today.

After I finish this one, there is one more I need to do with some deer, then I'm going to play with my scroll saw. I have a layered plywood landscape idea that I want to try.

Karen, You are an inspiration! That woodburning is awesome! The painting (rustic)amazes me cuz I look at it and ,like your other works ,the saturation is so controlled . .How do you control this?.If I had done the painting it would have been a over saturated nightmare . . .

The cheap digital camera I have looses the sky for some reason. I can never get it to pick up all the color variations or clouds. The original painting is much more colorful. I have to play with the photo a bit to get the lighting and color close to the original.

It is hanging in my spare bedroom and is NOT for sale, I'm keeping this one.

I keep very few of my pieces, but I like this one for some reason.

The wood burning is usually hit or miss with the final. I start a burn, and hope everything goes as intended.
