Sabrina's Rose

Postby Juliep » Fri Oct 02, 2009 7:52 am

Here's my newest work in progress. It's a rose my daughter got in a bouquet of flowers. They were so beautiful I've got atleast 50 shots of them.

Then I started painting it.... I got so into it I forgot to take some pics along the way  ...
The first one is of my sketch. I sketch the outlines with watercolor pencils, then I don't have to worry about graphite or charcoal showing.

Next I did an under painting with burnt sienna. You'll have to use your imagination as I said I forgot a photo at this phase.

The next day, after it dried, I started the next part of the painting. I didn't realize I had spent all day painting until my kids came home and I looked to see what time it was  . So again I didn't think about taking photos along the way....but here's an actual photo of what it looked like. I still have more to do, when it's dried I'll post the next part.

Wow Julie! Excellent colors, rich and vi
ant! Loving the delicate look of the petals. Fantastic start with this one!
I love watching wip's, even if you weren't able to take photos during all your steps, it still proves valuable as a learning tool.
I love the name Sa
ina :D ! It's my eldest granddaughter's name as well :D
Barb

Paint the light... it will come!

Thanks Barb, I finished it, and got a new photo of it, I'll post it in the furry section. Sa
ina's my middle daughter's name. Now I'll have to do flower paintings naming my eldest and youngest  . I've already heard how "unfair" it would be not to name a flower painting after them.

Hi Gwen, Thanks, I started painting macro flowers in the middle of winter, after seeing so much snow and blah, I was starving for some warm colors.

You are very talented, the color, depth, and blending is remarkable. Wish I could do this!

I'll go into fury to view the finished piece.

Thanks Karen and Mike.

Mike go for it. I think it's due to my near sitedness that I like macro's but I find them fun too.

I posted the final one in the furry but it didn't get looked at so I'll post it here.

Thanks Rich.

I actually have this one hanging above the TV, I've run out of safe storage space after the kitten decided it was fun to play in the boxes I normally store them in  .
