Is this one piece? So much work you put in it! but it's going to pay off, I'm sure. It's very beautiful.

to erika.
yes. This work sculpts the log which became hollow it.Though it is a difficult point that crazing is intense, I think that I became the clean line.

Only a bad thing continued and was not able to control a feeling recently.
I carved it impulsively to sweep away such a feeling.

This work is not yet completion.

to Singular.
I intend to paint this work in a color. With an acrylic, I intend to paint it in white and black.

The sculpture does not readily sell in Japan.
I have carved it impulsively, but am troubled with the place to exhibit.

The more I look at it, the more I like it. If I had a big house with a big backyard, I would make this the focal point and I would look at it every day. It's sad that there isn't demand for something like this in Japan. May I ask why do you want to paint it, is there a special reason behind it? I think I like its natural colour.
Hope that one day your talent will be recognized by the Japanese.

not "the clean line."
it's " beautiful line"
This translation system cannot be really careless.

If it is our log-yard, there is the area of 3000 square meters.
but.Because nobody visits, exhibit it; is not importan. In addition, I think that it is difficult to exhibit the thing which I used wood for outdoors.
Since I carved it, during slightly long time, I want there to be it as a work.
I think that I become the entrance halls of the building if I exhibit it.

The acrylic may not be good if I think that wood dries.
However, I think about a state of the finish and intend to use an acrylic this time.
In addition, I have already painted with gesso.

erika.
Do you know Japanese woodcut artists called Shiko Munakata?
There seems to have been the time when he had a hard time.
became famous after he received high needs assessment in Venetia.

Because it is the large world, there is the chance by all means.

finished one part

Postby logworkikeda » Wed May 14, 2008 7:52 am

The painting end.

But this thinks that I draw a picture rather than the painting.
Of course I think that such painting is interesting.
I decide to put it in log-yard for a while.

Gosh, it's so beautiful! I had doubts when you said you're going to paint it, but you were right. Black and white is perfect, looks very elegant and clean. Wonderful! Fantastic! Amazing!

Beautiful from all angles. If there's no interest in Japan for your work, why not enter some online international art competitions? I'm sure you would do very well.
Your work is uploaded to your member gallery at the moment. If you want to show it in the Wood Sculpture gallery, you'll need to upload it there.
Go to User Gallery -> Sculpture -> Wood, click on Upload File on top of page.
