Reflections of an Echo

I don't usually start with a sketch...do you think I should turn it into a painting?

Always start by sketching a basic form... sometimes over and over, before making a painting. Try having or taking a photo of a model in this pose, with a mirror including the reflection so that you have a basis of composition. Its a good idea.. but refine it before leaping to the finished product.. you will me much happier with it as a result. Sketch ya later! :)

Good start on blocking... wouldn't focus on details of features yet. get your depths of planes in tones down first.

I think Black would be a bit harsh... so vote, keep blue.. you can change the tones of blue to incorporate highlights and depth .. which will provide a more life to the water they represent.

I decided to compromise and do a very very dark blue...heheh....

...some women see their reflection and don't see themselves as beautiful.
