Our nicknames ......

Postby krysta11 » Thu Jun 19, 2008 6:05 am

Sometimes it is hard to recognize gender hidden under the nickname. I found out today, that bergina is Mr. not Mrs. O God. I am sorry but for me with Slavic background, names ending with "a" sound very feminine. The name Al also confused me because we call our granddaughter Alex, Al as well. Since I found out my mistake I do not feel nice  Forgive me Al , please . I am still new to ASC and I still don't know enough . If I didn't know, that oilpainter is Mike I would think, that he is she, the same with glomski. Amber knows , that Glomski is Polish surname for a man. Woman always is Glomska. Thank God she told us her name. For me she would be he,for sure. I never thought, that Erika is a man

Hi Erik and Lind,

I have to inter fer, I think, because I feel guilty of confusing Linda. It is my English, sorry. I just simply translated from Polish to English the last sentence of my post "I never thought, that Erika is a man" I meant : I never thought for a sec. that Erika could be a man. O gosh. Hope you two are laughing. I have seen both of you and both of you are pretty ladies.

I am wearing
a and g-strings. Who am I?

I would think everyone has that issue. The only way to know for sure is if the person has a picture posted. Like in my picture you can see I,m, Wait a min, Who am I here.
Perfection is what drives an artist.
The inability to achieve perfection is what creates a work of art.

Derek I think the world is very small today. Thanks of computers distances mean nothing to us. We communicate easily, doesn't matter where we are.
I am glad you keep your table. I managed to wash mine

Bruce we are here since 2007  and if you read Spartan's previous posts you would know what we are talking about.

cheers

Beaker is a muppet with no chin. Beaker is lab assistant for Professor Bunsen Honeydew and blows himself up doing experiments in the lab on a regular basis. Beaker's language consists of one word Meep which he repeats ... Meep meep meep.

When I was a conservation corps crew leader of a crew of young adults they said I looked like Beaker when I put on my hard hat, earphones and safety glasses. After that they called me Beaker. Because of my experience as a United States Marine I realized when they gave me a nickname that wasn't a curse word that they had accepted my leadership. Beaker + chinless became beakerless on the internet.

Being responsible for a group of 18 and 19 year olds using chain saws made me feel like Beaker after he had blown himself up in the lab.

Although I am a Marine and am certified in chainsaw use and maintenance, beakerless is a female.

Lol, I missed this one.
As long there is no Lind, Linda must be a woman. :)
For every Erika, there must be an Erik there, right?
Good one, made my day.

I googled my name and this is what came up first, you guys talking about me? :P Anyway Glomski is a polish name for sure but I don't know the history of it to much I just married into the reched name.. my maiden is Lundeen which I know is Norweigen because my grandparents came from Norway.... All I know is that in America it doesn't really matter cause we are all a bunch of muts, and that's what's so beautiful about our country if you ask my opinion.
The mere attempt to examine my own confusion would consume volumes.
