Maybe larger?

Postby Jeanette » Sat Jan 03, 2009 5:12 pm

Hurray! I finally got some Art over here!
Edited in Picassa, to reduce, and made new folder in My Pictures in Windows.
Sorry the one is so small! I reduced it twice, and I can't find the larger one! Anyway, I figured it out!

Can,t make out what it is. Perhaps a photo of a waterfall?
Perfection is what drives an artist.
The inability to achieve perfection is what creates a work of art.

My painting

Postby Jeanette » Sat Jan 03, 2009 8:37 pm

No, John..It's not a photo of a waterfall
Maybe you can see now that the painting is a forest scene, w/sunlight through the trees.

i was able to make out what it was without seeing the enlarged version. You did an awesome job - it looks totally realistic. (Although it's always better to give a clear image - crop off unwanted edges, etc.)
Anyways, it looks great to me :D

To Hallek, and Linda, and Barb...THANKS so much for your positive thoughts on my painting! This is the 2nd one done in 20+ years! The first is the Autumn scene...I went wild in 2 weekends, did 2 paintings...This one is the work that is sold through a barter...
Not bad for someone who hasn't "worked for 20+ years?"

O!
I wanted to crop the parts not of the painting, ( As suggested by Hallek) but since I took this photo at an angle, cropping it more than I did would have lost some of the painting...Still learning!
Thanks everyone, for viewing!

Excellent work. I was in the Knysna forest (South Africa) two years ago. This painting looks exactly like it! I can smell the air!
Well, why are we here if not to create?

This really looks like a photo, you did a great job on this.

I live next to a forest and saw scenes just like this one, it takes me there.

If you have any more work finished, can we see them?

Hi Karen! thanks again for your comment, and I'm pleased that it reminds you of a pleasant place in your past!
Teknowizard, thanks to you, also! Appreciate all the positive comments!
O! And Karen, I don't as yet have any more works done, trying to finish the Ice Tea still life, didn't go so well the other night, had to go over the painting...ah, well, it's only paint! I was waiting on supplies, so I got a later start than I wanted...Had a bad week w/shipping...waited forever for stuff, and then I went to check on Int'l shipping for the painting, and got a real shock! $310.00! for a 16x20 painting! (UPS) and my buyer was moving, so she wasn't online yet, was frantically e-mailing her, to not ship my item to me yet.....on and on....well, I've babbled enuf!
Y'all have a great day..week..life!
