Hello :) This is a small work I painted this past summer. It´s called "Sunset" and is painted with knife. Happy weekend and HAPPY NEW YEAR TO EVERY ONE.

If I were to say anything it would only be what you expected. So, Kudos. Is it not fun to paint with the knife and capture those opportunities such endeavor affords?

Hello, Carl :) It's fun to paint with the knife, as you well know. This is a small job and I had fun painting it. I wanted to highlight the atmosphere and light, it is an invented scene. Thank you and Happy New Year :)

Thank you so much, Jenn_iam :) I also love the most of this painting the ethereal feel, that was my idea when I started to painting it, and I´m glad you see it on this painting. I do not know much about the work of Avalon, but will look at his work. Thank you and Happy New Year :)

Avalon...not a person... a Mystical place - time of King Arthur.. etc. :)

Or a sci-fi movie where virtual reality merges with reality through an addictive video game making the viewer wonder where one ends and the other begins while showing that neither is a safe heaven by demonstration of danger and depravity in both worlds. Could have used a little more plot exposition to cover up the poor writing and some nudity to give the comic relief it sorely lacked. Just my opinion. It did have some magnificent mind bending scenes through out the movie though.

Hahaha, Jenn_iam, I thought that Avalon was a painter of this style :D I looked for some images and saw some photos in Google, like this: https://steampunkopera.wordpress.com/2013/05/03/avalon/ Thank you for your explanation :)

Thank you Jennifer. Glad you were amused.

Thank you Frank. I do not deny that I am an artist, although it took awhile to recognize it. After all, the 'Santa Fe Society of Artists' has denied me membership, twice. Art show judges have given me one votes with the five being the best while making comments, 'Oh my God, how awful!, are you kidding me?, and my favorite, 'go back to school and stay there.'

So, thank you both.

Yes, you certainly achieved what you set out to do. I think it is a lovely painting, an absolute wall hanger. Great job!
