I don't know if many of you are familiar with El Greco. His work is amazing. When you look at any of the masters work, you realize that people just don't paint like that anymore. I think it is because we as a society do not have the patience to create one piece of art that takes five years of our lifetime. It is a different time now. The detail and imaginatin of the art of that time is inspirational to me. When I look at it, I am truly humbled. Here is an example of one of my very favorite pieces. It is by El Greco and it is titled "The Burial Of Count Orgaz", finished in 1586. It is 18 feet tall by 12 feet wide and it lives in Toledo, Spain. Enjoy.

He was a major influence on Picasso as well. Or, that's that they say at the Getty, anyway. This is by far my favorite religious painting, primarily because it conveys so much more than piety.

very nice choice. I like that one very much as well. It's very powerful.
