Teaching Art to Special Needs Children

I have volunteered to help a new local non-profit organization which provides services for special needs/disabled children. I need to develop a program of 4 to 6 sessions with art projects which they can complete in each one hour session and take home with them. I have some ideas based on some research but would be interested if anyone on the forum had some exprience or suggestions they could share.

I think it's great that you share your time like this. I don't personally have any experience with this, but I know there are a few artists here that teach art classes. Hopefully they see your post and will give you some advice.
