Hi there! I think the color combos are wondering what time of day it is.
The Dude's outfit holds none of that weirdly colored sun.
I'm getting your light-to dark perspective but there should be a more detailed
progression of the shades. I think it would be a good idea to add the colors of
his shirt into the sun or warm up that yellow unless he's on another planet...
There are many letters between A and Z. In my H.O. I think you should blend your
contrasts a bit more - show the progress of A-to-Z. E

I certainly do like your penciling - continue to experiment with colors, light and how they relate to each other. E

No. Complementary colors within each form. Boring. Slap it around a bit. And why the anger? Start making your figures happy and you know what? A change will start happening in you and you will be more accepted by your friends and your art will start to improve. You do have skills, but it is my opinion you are running down a blind alley. There is more truth in the saying, smile and the world smiles with you and if you frown you frown alone than you know. So, think about it a bit.

i'm in a dark place right now with my mom passing in feb... so I'm just doing most of this to deal with that... i have other art that's more cheerful. I'm just doing what feels right at the moment.

Not assigning quilt or fault. Just trying to help you to get back to the light. I have also lost and witnessed the death of loved ones and not so loved ones. The sooner you understand the better you shall be, in presence and in spirit. Do what you must, and know wounds heal but they are always there. Try a happy painting, just for the fun of it and see what I mean.

Oh, come on now. Well, look at some old photos of Shirley Temple. Pull up some 'Little Rascals' photos. Look at some of your childhood photos. There is a scene from a Cole Porter movie with Cary Grant that shows dancers to the music of 'Begin the Beguine'. Research the Flamingo dancers pictures. Look at Dancing with the Stars episodes. Get up at 5:30 in the morning and watch the sunrise while you are standing in the grass barefoot. Go to the park, lay on your back and look up into the trees branches and sketch them on a tablet, several times. Take a photo of your dinner cooking and then paint it as an abstract. Call a friend to take an outing and take about 800 pictures, then choose the one or ones you want to turn into a painting. Go to a nightclub, restaurant, play, mall and sketch whatever catches your fancy. Sit on a bus stop bench with a sketch pad and draw what you see. I will stop here because I think you got the idea.

Good. You are welcome. I suggest that it involves some sort of body movement that requires you to get up off your posterior and walk out the door to be with a friend to go do something physical that you can then record as a painting of that experience.

P.S. No drugs. It messes up the best of intentions and dreams.

Good. Me too. Before you were born, but the same thing, the same duty, the same results and the same pain. Understood, but re-engage for your own wellbeing and the enhancement of those you touch either by your presence of being or by simply by giving others the pleasure of seeing your work.

Pretty good. I like the consistency of the brush swirls in each of the brush stroke bands. Interesting colors with a sense of harmony. If it were say about four feet by four feet with the Gallery wrap on the edge it could hang nicely in a Manhattan style apartment. Very modern abstract.
